Our Story
Founded in 1998 through Blackfyne Community Association, Blackfyne JFC began as a handful of junior teams but has grown to become on of Consett’s most active clubs providing affordable football activities for children and adults young & old from all the communities in the Consett area. The club is unique in the area where we offer 3 or even 4 generations the opportunity to play at the same football club, stay active, keep fit and socialise in a football environment and currently have players from 5 to 75 years young.
We have recently updated the club affiliation name to Consett Blackfyne FC to reflect the growth in adult participation in recent years, as we now have 2 open age teams and a thriving walking football section including teams at over 50s and over 60s.
From Community Roots to Club Pride
For many years the club was based at Consett Community Sports College (ex Blackfyne School) and despite it’s closure the we have continued to work towards an active. happy and healthy community. Now in our 28th Consett Blackfyne FC is a FA 2 star Accredited club year offering children and adults the opportunity to enjoy football whilst developing the valuable life skills that team sports gives us and currently, on a weekly basis, we have around 290 children and adults who participate across multiple venues.
